⚠️ Before You Start:
Always take a full backup of your website (files + database) before updating any theme or plugin. Use tools like UpdraftPlus, All-in-One WP Migration, or your hosting provider's backup feature.
✅ Step 1: Check for Updates
Visit SoftwareBazar.in and see if the latest version of your theme is available.
Download the .zip file of the updated version.
✅ Step 2: Backup Your Current Theme (Optional but Recommended)
Go to your WordPress dashboard → Appearance > Themes
Note your current theme version.
Use FTP (like FileZilla) or File Manager in cPanel to download the existing theme folder from /wp-content/themes/your-theme-name.
✅ Step 3: Deactivate the Theme (If Not a Child Theme)
If you’re not using a child theme, switch temporarily to another theme like Twenty Twenty-Four.
✅ Step 4: Delete the Old Version
WordPress won’t let you upload a theme with the same folder name, so you must remove the old version first.
Go to Appearance > Themes
Activate another theme temporarily
Then click on your old theme → Delete
✅ Step 5: Upload the New Version
Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme
Click Upload Theme, then select the new .zip file you downloaded from SoftwareBazar.in
Click Install Now, then Activate
✅ Step 6: Test Your Website
Check the frontend to make sure everything is working properly
Review any settings or customizer options that may have reset
Clear your cache if needed
✅ Step 7: Reapply Custom Code (If Any)
If you had made changes directly to the theme files (not recommended), reapply them manually. For future changes, use a child theme to avoid losing custom edits during updates.
💡 Pro Tips:
Use Child Themes to preserve your customizations.
Regularly check SoftwareBazar.in for theme and plugin updates.
Use a staging site to test updates if you’re managing a high-traffic or critical site.
