✅ Option 1: Backup Using phpMyAdmin (Manual Method)

Log in to cPanel
Visit yourdomain.com/cpanel and enter your credentials.

Scroll down to DB section → Click on phpMyAdmin

In the left sidebar, click on the db name for your website
(If unsure which one, check wp-config.php for the DB name)

Click the Export tab at the top

Choose:

Export Method: Quick

Format: SQL

Click Go
➝ A .sql file will start downloading to your device.

✅ Done! That file is your full db backup.

✅ Option 2: Backup Using cPanel Backup Tool (Simple)

In cPanel, go to Backup or Backup Wizard under the Files section

Click Download a MySQL DB Backup

Find your db name and click to download the .sql.gz file

This is a compressed version of your DB—great for saving space.

✅ Option 3: Use a WordPress Plugin (Optional)

If you prefer a plugin-based backup system:

UpdraftPlus

All-in-One WP Migration

BackWPup

These plugins allow scheduled backups and cloud storage options (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).

🛑 Before You Go...

Always make a backup before:

Updating themes/plugins

Uploading scripts
